We are actively involved in tax preparation and consulting services to for-profit organizations. More specifically, our 40 years of experience provides us with the requisite technical background necessary to adequately address specific issues in accounting and tax related matters.
In addition to our expertise, Jamie Baker & Company prides themselves on delivering affordable services in a timely manner with a personal touch. That's why most of our new clients are referred by existing clients. Additional services we offer include CFO services, QuickBooks Support, bookkeeping services, and business coaching.

Our Team
Education: Bachelors, Accounting & Finance, Jamie has been an accountant for years and offers quality accounting, tax, and business consulting services to hundreds of individuals and small businesses. Jamie graduated from California Polytechnic State University in 2000 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Accounting and Finance. Jamie is an active member of the Sacramento Chapter of CalCPA; she is part of the Scholarship Committee and the Davis Discussion Group. Jamie enjoys being active and has completed two Ironman triathlons. She enjoys running, biking and most importantly spending time with her husband Nick and their two kids.Jamie Baker, CPA, CFP®
Education: California State University, Sacramento Jim McGowan has been an accountant for 47 years. He graduated Sacramento State University in 1972. Jim enjoys spending time with his 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys reading, riding his bike and working on home improvement projects. Jim lives in Sacramento. He is a big hockey fan and loves to watch college basketball. He is working on a smooth transition of business relationships to ensure the firms service to existing clients in the future.Jim McGowan, CPA
Education: Bachelor's in Agricultural Business and a Concentration in Finance and Appraisal Sheri has been at Jamie Baker & Company since 2007. She graduated from Cal Poly in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business and a concentration in Finance and Appraisal. Jamie met Sheri in their Corporate Tax Class at Cal Poly. Sheri processes client payroll, helps our clients with their bookkeeping needs and coordinates the preparation of and review of tax returns. She assists with year-end bookkeeping for our clients so that their tax returns can easily be prepared. She coordinates the preparation of, and reviews all monthly/quarterly statements prepared for our clients. Sheri lives on her family’s farm where she has a small herd of Boer goats and helps out with her family’s vineyard. She enjoys traveling with her husband, attending BBQ competitions and loves to go camping whenever she gets the chance to.Sheri Backer
Jared joined Jamie Baker & Company as a staff accountant in January 2022. He has ample experience in multiple accounting softwares and has worked in many environments spanning from non-profit organizations to political law firms. Jared likes to play guitar and sing at local businesses across Sacramento. He also loves to bake bread and share it with his friends and family.Jared Noche
